The G.O.O.D. Project is a program in conjunction with TPN Resident Council, Taft Neighborhood Promise, and Community Farmers Market to establish a tomato farm on Youngstown's South Side across from Taft School. 'G.O.O.D. is an acronym for Grow Our Own Development which not only will teach and promote food sovereignty and sustainability, but also will beautify the area in which it will exist.
From May 12 - June 23, we will host bi-weekly (every other Saturday) convergences to maintain the tomoato farm.
"It's a great idea to teach our citizens how to develop things that are needed in our community, rather than looking elsewhere for solutions. There are a number of things that this concept can carry over to."
Director of United Returning Citizens
The G.O.O.D. Project Tomato Farm location is at 730 E. Avondale Ave; Youngstown, Ohio (across from Taft School).
